396 City of Prince George Royal Canadian Air Cadets

The 396 City of Prince George Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron meets on Tuesday evenings from 1815 to 2130 hours, September through June. Parades are held at 1491 17th Avenue, located behind the Connaught Youth Centre, in Prince George, British Columbia.

For general inquiries, the squadron can be reached at 250-562-0039. If there is no answer, please leave a voicemail and a member of the staff will return your call as soon as possible.

Squadron Staff

The staff who support the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program come from a wide range of backgrounds, including students, educators, emergency services personnel, tradespeople, retail and construction workers, members or former members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and volunteers from community service organizations such as the Rotary Club, Kin Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion. Many are also former Air Cadets themselves.

Despite their diverse experiences, all staff share a common commitment: the positive development, leadership, and well-being of Canada’s youth.

Some staff members are officers enrolled in the Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC) of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. Their primary role is the training and supervision of cadets. CIC officers are subject to the military Code of Service Discipline and are required to successfully complete a series of military and instructional training courses throughout their service.

In addition to officers, the squadron is supported by Civilian Instructors (CIs) who assist with training and supervision. Civilian Instructors choose to volunteer with the Air Cadet Program for many reasons—some are parents or guardians of current or former cadets, some are former cadets themselves, and others are motivated by a desire to contribute to a structured youth program that builds leadership, citizenship, and life skills.

All staff members—both military and civilian—are required to complete comprehensive security screening, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) through their local police service, prior to working with cadets.
